Meta To Label All Artificial Content
AI is on Zuck’s radar 24/7, and starting this year, Meta will label photorealistic images created by artificial intelligence across their platforms, helping users navigate the increasingly blurred lines between real and fake content.
Who knows, with this update, maybe people won’t be falling in love with AI influencers. (Aitana Lopez anyone 😉)
This decision comes as a response to the increasing prevalence of deceptive AI-generated content, aiming to enhance transparency and combat misinformation. (Calling it now, “misinformation” is the word of the year.)
With this being an election year, we’re speculating this move may have been influenced by that. Even more wild speculation, Zuck’s recent trip to Congress probably was a nudge.
The company's initiative includes collaborating with industry partners to establish common technical standards for identifying AI content, particularly focusing on video and audio. They aim to accomplish these goals with a three-pronged battle plan approach:
Invisible Watermarks and Metadata: Images generated by AI tools will contain hidden markers, allowing Meta to identify and label them.
Expanding Detection: Even if markers are removed, Meta is developing tools to sniff out AI-generated content.
User Disclosure: Creators can voluntarily disclose if their content is AI-generated, promoting self-awareness.

Turn Hours Of Work In Excel Into Minutes
You know the drill: constant downloads, uploads, and endless copy-paste. It's tedious, mistakes happen, and data immediately becomes stale. You’re better than that.
Connect Excel (or Google Sheets) to any data source in seconds, import the data you need, and set it on a refresh schedule to power live reports and analyses.

The Giant Awakes
Apple’s First AI Image Tool
Apple, in collaboration with the University of California, Santa Barbara, has introduced the MGIE model (MLLM-Guided Image Editing), an AI tool that allows users to edit photos through simple text prompts.
This model enables a range of edits from basic adjustments like cropping and resizing to more complex changes such as altering object shapes and enhancing brightness, all without the need for traditional photo editing software.
By interpreting user requests in plain language, MGIE can perform sophisticated image manipulations. For instance, instructing the model to "make a pizza more healthy" automatically adds vegetable toppings to it, while a command to "add more contrast" to a dark image of tigers can make the photo appear brighter.
The researchers have extensively tested MGIE, proving its effectiveness and efficiency in various editing tasks. The model is available for download on GitHub and also features a web demo on Hugging Face Spaces.
