Billionaire Beefs
🄩 Musk vs. Altman: The Billionaire Beef Nobody Asked For

The Bite: Elon Musk just went scorched earth on Sam Altman (again), calling him ā€œsoulless,ā€ ā€œdishonest,ā€ and ā€œthe reason AI is doomed.ā€

Sam, of course, ignored him.
Because nothing says ā€œfocused on AGI safetyā€ like subtweeting your old cofounder.

The drama’s been simmering for years, but it hit a new low after Tesla investors started asking if Musk would refund Cybertruck buyers who got ā€œAI self-driving that never self-drove.ā€

Elon deflected, then went right back to flaming OpenAI on X.

Snacks:

  • Musk called OpenAI a ā€œMicrosoft puppetā€ and said Altman ā€œsold humanity for stock options.ā€

  • Altman’s quiet flex: OpenAI valuation = $150B, Musk’s xAI = $24B.

  • Tesla still under fire for misleading ā€œFull Self-Drivingā€ claims.

  • Musk claims xAI will ā€œsave truth itself,ā€ whatever that means.

  • Altman keeps posting about model updates, investor dinners, and "alignment."

Why it Bites: This is the worst kind of tech beef:
Billionaires LARPing as philosophers while dodging accountability.

Both men built the world’s most powerful AI systems and instead of fixing hallucinations, bias, or transparency, they’re playing
Real Housewives of Silicon Valley.

Musk’s ā€œtruth crusadeā€ is rich coming from a guy whose cars can’t tell a stop sign from a sunset.

Altman’s ā€œalignment missionā€ rings hollow while OpenAI is out franchising models to world governments.

And yet… it’s hard to look away.
It’s gladiator theater for the terminally online.

Here’s the part most won’t say out loud:
While they trade insults, the rest of us are stuck footing the bill.
Higher energy use, rising data costs, collapsing trust, and zero guardrails.

It’s not just a beef; it’s a distraction.

And if the two richest men in AI can’t stop arguing long enough to build something that actually helps people keep the lights on, maybe the machines should take over after all.

At least they’d shut up and compute.

Big Tech Bullies
🌐 Amazon vs. Perplexity: The New AI Bully on the Block

The Bite: Amazon just blocked Perplexity AI’s Comet browser agent from shopping on its site. Their excuse? ā€œSecurity.ā€ The real reason? Control.

Comet lets users automate product searches and price checks.
Like a personal shopper, but smarter.

Amazon decided that sounded a little too independent, so it slammed the door shut.

Snacks:

  • Amazon banned Perplexity’s Comet browser agent from accessing its marketplace data.

  • Amazon claims it violates scraping policies — Perplexity says it’s fair public data use.

  • Comet uses AI agents to compare products, automate buys, and track deals.

  • Perplexity called the move ā€œanti-competitiveā€ and hinted at legal options.

  • Amazon didn’t respond directly but keeps saying it’s about ā€œuser safety.ā€

Why it bites: If this stands, it’s a blueprint for how Big Tech will gatekeep the future.

Amazon isn’t protecting you.
It’s protecting its chokehold.

Sure, AI agents spending your money sounds risky.
But none of those risks involve Jeff Bezos waking up broke.

The risk is ours.
User error, bad data, dumb bots.
And that’s fine.

If I want my AI to buy me socks, supplements, and maybe a sword at 3 a.m., nobody should be able to stop me.

And if we keep letting tech giants crush anything that threatens their walled gardens, we’ll wake up in a world run by five companies and one Dario Amodei saying, ā€œWe really should regulate this.ā€

He’s right.

The AI Cold War narrative (ā€œChina will beat us!ā€) was a convenient smokescreen to dodge real regulation.

Now we’ve got the worst of both worlds: no rules, all rulers.
