🤓 Stupid Simple: Generalization > Specialization
Generalists Will Inherit the Earth

I'm writing this from the same coffee shop I opened at 25.
I don’t run it. I barely manage it. But I do love it. I even built my office inside of it. It’s where I run a full-blown tech startup now—and it still smells like fresh espresso and new beginnings.
It’s wild to think how much of my life I’ve lived inside these walls.
I’ve gone from designer to
→ agency founder
→ consultant
→ tech founder
→ coffee shop owner
→ back to tech startup CEO
I’ve worn more hats than I can count.
I used to feel guilty about that. Like maybe I should’ve just stuck to one thing, gone deep, and become “the guy” at that one thing.
But looking at where the world’s headed, I’m starting to realize...
Maybe I did it right.
The End of Mastery in a Machine-Driven World
You no longer need to be the best at any one thing.
You just need to be good enough at many—good enough to validate them.
We’re not living in the Information Age anymore.
We’re entering the Validation Age.
In the Information Age, mastery was required.
In the Validation Age, range is your advantage.
Here’s what that looks like:
A designer doesn’t need to master Photoshop. They need to know what good design looks like, and how to ask AI to make it happen.
A marketer doesn’t need to write a perfect email. They just need to know what a high-converting one sounds like.
A founder doesn’t need to code the product. They need to know what it should do—and validate whether it’s working.
The new value stack:
Know what good looks like
Know how to communicate it
Know how to validate it
That’s it.
Being a generalist is no longer a weakness. It’s a superpower.
Why Generalists Will Win
For most of history, success belonged to specialists.
Pick one thing. Go deep. Master it.
That made sense in a world where humans did the work.
But today? AI does the work.
And the real job? Validating it.
Each skill you can validate becomes a new output channel.
You don’t need to be a professional writer.
Just know how good writing reads.You don’t need to be a designer.
Just know how to spot a clean brand.You don’t need to be a coder.
Just know what the code should do.
The more domains you understand just enough to guide and validate, the more powerful you become.
Because now, it’s not about doing the work. It’s about conducting it.
And AI?
AI can play every instrument.
You just need to be the one conducting the orchestra.
