From Zero to 1,300,000 Users in 3 Months

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned after building an agency, two tech startups, and a few other things that “should’ve worked” sooner—it’s this:

The product isn’t what makes you win.
Distribution is.

Let’s rewind a bit…

10 years ago, I started a YouTube channel.
In 30 days, it had 3,000 subscribers.
By month two, I made $8,000.

By month three…
I walked away from it.

At the time, I had a marketing firm. I knew the power of distribution—how vital it was to build a community, an audience, a movement. But something in me resisted. I thought if I built a great product, I could skip all that.

“Bezos wasn’t on YouTube,” I told myself.
“He was just building.”

But what I’ve learned—over years, through multiple businesses, and millions invested—is this:

In today’s landscape…
You don’t skip distribution.
You start with it.

For years, I did it the hard way.

I built an agency.
A coffee business.
Two tech startups.
Launched product after product.

And every single time, I told myself:

“If the product is great, people will come.”

They did—eventually.
But only after years of grinding.
Only after hundreds of thousands—sometimes millions—spent before we ever made a dollar back.

The problem wasn’t the product.
It was that no one knew it existed.

1,300,000 Users in 3 Months

That all changed with Snack Prompt.

We spent just three weeks building the first version.
It was messy. Incomplete. Half-baked.

But we launched it anyway.

And in three months, 1.3 million people had used it.

Not because the product was incredible.
But because we obsessed over distribution.

Here’s a Story…

A few years ago, a friend walked into my coffee shop. He works in tech—sharp guy—and told me he wanted to start a roastery.

I said:
DON’T

He laughed. I didn’t.

I told him: don’t buy a $50K roaster. Don’t invest $70k in building a facility.

White-label the whole business instead.

Sell first. Learn distribution. That’s the real business.

Anyone can buy a roaster, take a roasting course and roast coffee. That’s the easy part.

A business is NOT the product

You don’t even need to know how to roast coffee.

At least, not at first.

What you do need is this:

Find someone who already roasts. Another business that can roast for you…
Let them handle the mess.

You take 15% off the top—and focus 100% of your time on getting that coffee into stores.
 
What makes a business is the distribution. Not the product.

Until you learn how to sell the product, you do NOT have a business… even if you spent millions in building the product.

Let them handle the roasting… the app… the automation.
You focus 100% on selling.

Once you learn how to sell the coffee, now you can learn to build the product and maximize profits. Now you can buy the roaster.

But imagine spending $100k in building the business, and realizing that you don’t know how to drive sells.

Because until you know how to sell it, or get others to notice, you don’t have anything.
